We offer the urban poor in Over-the-Rhine a place of dignity and respect as they enjoy breakfast and dinner served by compassionate volunteers.  Meals are served to our guests Monday through Friday (excluding major holidays). Our volunteer shifts are from 6:45 - 9:00am and 3:45 - 6:00pm.

We are located less than a mile and a half from UC in the St. Anthony Center (corner of Liberty and Republic). Parking is available in front of the building, and behind St. Francis Seraph School (turn on Vine St. and park between the green school fence and Hubert St.)

No experience necessary - we provide on-the-job-training, you provide the kindness!

This is our first general body welcome event of the semester! This will take place Thursday, August 27th from 7:30-8:30 pm in Clifton Court Hall 1120!  We will be discussing the upcoming year and completing a volunteer training while organizing visits to bring magic to medically vulnerable children.

Grab a few friends and join us in cleaning our community!

When you arrive to 2728 Short Vine St., you will check-in, grab a provided trash grabber, and either a bucket or a trash bag to collect any trash found. After you check-in, you will need to watch a safety video made by UCPD police officers. You will not be permitted to volunteer until after you watch the safety video. 

Choose any area in the surrounding community to get started! You can clean up near the check-in site in Corryville—or you can make your way to a place a little further away. This option could be useful if you want to clean-up the pathway that you usually take to class, or if you'd like to clean somewhere where you typically spend a lot of time.

Make sure to arrive with enough time to finish the cleanup! We suggest giving yourself one hour —at least— to check-in, clean, and check-out. All supplies will need to be checked back in to 2728 Short Vine St. at 5:50pm. The opportunity ends at 6:00pm, but to allow time for check-out, please arrive at 5:50pm. The opportunity starts at 2:00 pm, but feel free to arrive any time before 5:00pm. You will most likely get turned away if you arrive after 5:00pm because there will not be enough time to complete the clean up in that timeframe.

Fresh Check Day being held on Wednesday, September 16, 2026 at the University of Cincinnati from 11am-2pm on Bearcat Commons. This event is to promote mental health and suicide prevention by increasing awareness of local resources on and off-campus. This is a large event and we need volunteers from 9am-3pm to help assure the event runs smoothly.

Cincinnati Coffee Festival Event Volunteer - October 23rd-25th, 2026

Ohio River Foundation, a regional conservation non-profit organization, is seeking volunteers to assist with their biggest fundraising event, the Cincinnati Coffee Festival. We have a variety of positions throughout the festival weekend. Check out the descriptions below! Volunteers get free entry to the Cincinnati Coffee Festival on the day they volunteer.

Cincinnati Coffee Festival Volunteer Position Descriptions:

General Move In (Friday)—In this role, volunteers will assist with unloading boxes and other necessary items from the vans, moving items to the ballroom floor, and helping to stage the event. This role will include setting up the selfie stations, greeting vendors, distributing linens per the pre-purchase lists, setting up demo areas and speaker venues, and other general assistance.

Vendor Check-in (Friday)—Vendor check-in requires two positive, detail-oriented volunteers to greet each vendor, review their check-in sheet with them, assign vendor badges, and direct them to their assigned booth. These people will also answer general questions about the Festival and be a primary point of contact for the Festival organizers. 

The Green Team (Saturday & Sunday)—Volunteers will assure all compostable, recyclable, and landfill waste finds its proper home by supervising and guiding attendees to the correct receptacle in their designated waste station. Environmentally-minded volunteers, this is for you.

The Coffee Shop (Saturday & Sunday)—The Coffee Shop is the Cincinnati Coffee Festival Store. Volunteers here will assist people with their purchases and maintain the appearance of the store for ease of shopping. The final shift on Saturday will re-set the store for opening on Sunday. The final shift on Sunday will pack up and tally remaining inventory.

Welcome Desk (Saturday & Sunday)—The Welcome Desk Greeter is responsible for acting as the main point of contact in the lobby area of the Cincinnati Coffee Festival. This person will sign in speakers and musicians, register press representatives, and make decisions about the Festival.

Joinher Healing Haven is seeking a creative, dependable, and mission-driven Volunteer Social Media Coordinator to help increase awareness of our programs, services, events, and community impact. The coordinator will create and schedule engaging social media content, develop graphics and promotional materials, monitor engagement, promote organizational initiatives, and help strengthen our online presence.

The ideal volunteer is comfortable with social media, has strong communication skills, is organized and creative, and is passionate about empowering girls, women, families, and communities. Experience with platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube, Canva, digital marketing, photography, or graphic design is helpful but not required.

This volunteer position requires approximately 3–5 hours per week and provides valuable experience in nonprofit communications, digital marketing, content creation, community engagement, branding, and storytelling.

Most importantly, the Social Media Coordinator will help amplify voices, inspire confidence, connect people to resources, and share the meaningful impact of Joinher Healing Haven throughout the community.

As our Development team receives in-kind donations for our Resource Center, we need volunteers to keep the shelves and donations organized for easy access to our clients. 

Volunteer duties include helping patients register for appointments, fill out demographic forms, and generally helping with the daily needs of the clinic. Volunteers may be able to assist in seeing patients under the supervision of clinic residents and attendings. 

Volunteers are preferably proficient in Spanish as most of the clinic's patients are Spanish-speaking.

Join MCA in helping to clean up and restore the Mill Creek at Evendale Commons.

The UMCCU confirms Mill Creek Alliance commitment to completed restoration project sites by engaging volunteers and the community in cleanup, maintenance, and education efforts.

This year’s event will take place near Evendale Commons, where in 2016 MCA completed a restoration project featuring 850' of streambank stabilization, stream flow management, and floodplain bench installation. This work has improved the water quality, reduced flooding, restored habitat, reduced non-point source pollution, and created a new recreation opportunity along the bank of the Mill Creek. Volunteers will clean up by land and water, complete needed maintenance, and plant more trees.

Space is limited on some crews, registration in required. Land cleanup crews of all sizes are welcome! If you are coming with a larger group, contact us in advance or have all participants so we can be sure to have appropriate tools on hand.

Tools and instructions will be provided at the event. Lunch will be provided.

This hands dirty, feet wet cleanup will occur at a few dispersed work sites. All participants should meet under the tents on the bank of the Mill Creek at The Evendale Commons at 9 am. Be prepared for walking through thick brush and getting muddy. Please dress appropriately (pants, long sleeve shirts, hats/bandanas) and wear closed toe footwear. Sunscreen and bug spray will be available.

The land cleanup is suitable for people of all ages and activity levels. Canoe volunteer spaces are limited to adults only, please. After the work, everyone will gather under the tents to unload their spoils, enjoy some food and refreshments, and tell grand stories of their exploits.

Volunteers help bring joy and creativity to our youngest members by reading, playing, and engaging with children ages 8 and under. While parents focus on their own health in the fitness center, volunteers work alongside YMCA staff to ensure kids are safe, cared for, and inspired through fun activities and imaginative play. This role is a meaningful way to support families, spark children’s imaginations, and strengthen our community. The hours below represent when volunteers are typically needed. You do not need to be available for every shift, but your availability should generally match these times.

Ohio Living Village Home Health & Hospice provides special care, comfort, and support to those facing a life-limiting illness. Volunteers are a large part of hospice care and make an INCREDIBLE difference in the lives of others.Hospice volunteers can contribute in a variety of ways:Provide companionship by just being present with the patient, listening to their stories, doing activities, etc.Provide a bedside presence for a patient who is actively dying.Assist patients with documenting their stories or writing cards or letters.Conduct video chats with patients and their out-of-town loved ones.Help tidy up a patient's room or maintain their house/yard.Assist our chaplains with bereavement services and support for families after patient deaths.Create or collect items to be donated to our patients.We try to match you with patients you would get along with well and who are as close to your home as possible. We provide services to our own Ohio Living facilities throughout the area as well as other facilities and in patient homes in the community.Any volunteers wanting to visit or talk to patients/families directly must undergo an extensive onboarding process, including a background check, fingerprinting, drug screen, 2-step TB test, in-person and online training. What to wear: Wear weather appropriate clothing (layers are always a good idea). Long sleeves, long pants, and closed toed shoes are highly recommended to avoid cuts and scratches, sunburn, and possible exposure to poison ivy.

The Community Engagement Expo is an annual event hosted by the Center for Community Engagement. This event takes place every August or September and invites students to come and get to know various community organizations. Whether you're a commuting student who is looking for community-based support services, an off-campus student looking to get involved in your neighborhood, or a student who wants to receive volunteer hours, we invite you to attend to get to know some of our community organizations and partners!

Student attendees are eligible for volunteer service hours! Each student will receive one volunteer hour for attending - we believe that you are serving your community by engaging with community organizations and other opportunities to get involved! In addition, you can receive an additional volunteer hour by interacting with ten (10) or more tables at the Community Engagement Expo.  Here's how it works:

The Kentucky Symphony Orchestra’s Boogie Band closes the 32nd Summer Series with “Living in America,” an energetic celebration of America through the music of popular artists spanning seven decades.

This concert explores the many ways popular artists have saluted America in their music. From The Beach Boys, Simon & Garfunkel, Chicago, Elton John, Neil Diamond, and James Brown to Martina McBride, Lana Del Rey, and Miley Cyrus and more, each song reflects a unique interpretation of America—its people, freedoms, hopes, and ideals. Together, these songs paint a musical portrait of America through the voices of some of popular music’s most memorable artists.

Our ArtWalks welcome the public in for an immersive experience only 3 weekends a year. Visit our Resident Artists in their studios, stroll the halls full of Visiting Artists, shop unique pieces, and learn about our local art co-ops all while enjoying great food, drink, and live music!

Volunteers are needed Friday and Saturday night in two hour shifts. Opportunities include greeting and directing visitors (in the lobby or parking lot) and manning the Essex merchandise booth and complimentary coffee counter. It is a fantastic chance to get to know both established and upcoming artists in Cincinnati! Volunteers are also invited to enter the ArtWalk Art Contest. The theme is open to interpretation and all sizes and/or mediums encouraged. Entries are due the Wednesday before.

Help make it easier for families to attend our monthly PTO meetings (2nd Wednesday of every month beginning September 9, exception in November) by volunteering with our students during the meeting.

Volunteer Responsibilities:

No special experience is necessary—just a positive attitude and a willingness to help. Your support allows parents to participate in PTO meetings while knowing their children are safe, engaged, and having fun.

We need volunteers to clear trails and overgrown brush on both our Central and East Campuses. Our kids use these trails for outdoor activities and are in constant needs of maintenance during the warm months. April 1st to October 31st annually. 

15+ niche sports are coming together to showcase their talents and provide the community the opportunity to learn the variety of sports/games available to them here in Greater Cincinnati at REC FEST Cincinnati. We are looking for individuals that can help with registration, sport stations (no knowledge of the sport is necessary), crowd support, and getting into some of the games! We will have food trucks, music, likely to have media, and have a trail of sports from Sawyer Point to the Pickleball Courts. Sports will have their own stations to showcase their sport through drills to learn the sport as well as special opportunities throughout the day to take part in friendly/competitive games. Current sports include team handball, Gaelic football, women's football, cricket, orienteering, korfball, tennis, pickleball, rugby, Aussie football, fishing, roller skating, ultimate frisbee, disc golf, street hockey, broomball, and more to come! 

The FC Cincinnati Foundation is looking for volunteer Head and Assistant coaches for our youth soccer program, West End Pride. Coaches will be expected to attend one practice every week during the evening, as well as coach games during the weekends. No coaching experience necessary!

West End Pride is a free soccer program for any kids living, going to school, worship, or their parents work in the West End neighborhood. We have over 300 kids now who regularly play for us, aged from preschool to high school for boys and girls.
