Gamble Montessori High School has a need for math tutors for our high school students during the 2025-2026 school year. We would love to have UC volunteers help our students with algebra or geometry for 1-2 hours weekly or bi-weekly between 11:30-2:30 on Tuesdays or Thursdays. We are happy to work with you to accommodate your schedule and tutoring interests!

Birthdays are moments of joy and everyone deserves to feel special. Join our birthday program volunteers and bring magic to our elderly friends on their big day. A few weeks before each month, we'll send out a list of upcoming birthdays. Choose the dates that suit you best and let us know which elder you'd like to visit. Confirm by email and on the big day, pick up their birthday bag and cake. Then comes the best part – deliver the goodies and spend some quality time celebrating with our elder friends. It's a heartwarming way to brighten someone's day!

Lend a hand to local seniors who need help with basic yard work! Volunteers will assist with mowing, weed pulling, and light cleanup to keep lawns safe and tidy.

GiGi’s Playhouse Cincinnati is looking for dedicated UC students to serve as 1:1 literacy tutors for individuals with Down syndrome. Reading is more than just a skill—it’s a key to independence, inclusion, and lifelong learning. But here’s the challenge: we can only match about 50% of our participants due to a shortage of volunteers. You can help change that.

As a tutor, you’ll be paired with one student and commit to just one hour a week for 10–15 weeks. We’ll provide all the training and materials you need, tailored to how individuals with Down syndrome learn best. You’ll use a proven, research-based approach that focuses on comprehension, speech, memory, and most importantly—confidence.

The Stowe Park Advisory Council launched efforts in 2025 to support the gardens and grounds of the Harriet Beecher Stowe House. Plans include improving gardens by removing invasive species, planting natives and installing educational signage. The CPAC is working in collaboration with the Harriet Beecher Stowe House leadership.

Each “All About Me Board” is designed to capture the Favorite Things, Life Story and What Matters Most. Many of our patients struggle with communication barriers or advanced dementia. At a glance, anyone that walks into the room can have access to important information to give that patient a great experience. Each board is purposefully designed to look homemade, unique and specially made just for that patient. Pictures can be added to provide recognition and points of conversation.

The HOC End of Life Doula will sit down and complete the board with either the caregiver and/or patient. Overall, HOC Navigators serve 6,000 patients each year – so we need a lot of help!!!! Our solution is to recruit Community Service Volunteers to help. Gather your businesses, churches, schools and social groups to do together. We also have open service days where you can meet new friends!

Materials are provided or you can host a drive for scrapbook paper, stickers and glue to support the effort prior to serving. HOC will provide a workspace, speaker and facilitator if desired. Each person needs to bring their own pair of scissors, a water bottle, creativity and desire to make a difference! This project can also be done as a remote service opportunity.

The YMCA's Achievers program is a dynamic college and career readiness initiative that empowers 7th–12th grade students. We’re looking for motivated college students to serve as volunteer workshop leaders for our Arts & Culture and Finance & Banking clusters. At Washington UCC we have community lunch 4 days a week, feeding the low-income and homeless people in our own neighborhood of Camp Washington.

Lunch is served as a sit-down meal or as a takeout option.

We are located only a 5-minute drive from the UC campus and within walking distance from the west side of campus. 

We are looking for volunteers from approximately 9:30-12:30 (can come a little later and leave a little earlier) any day Monday-Thursday. We are open to people interested in volunteering the same shift each week or a one-time volunteer opportunity. 

Primary Lunch Volunteer Tasks/Responsibilities:

-              Serve lunch to lunch guests starting at noon. Lunch is served in a manner similar to a school lunch, where guests walk down the line while volunteers serve them food. 

-              Assist the cook with making lunch

-              Assist with putting the different components of lunch (meal, side, desert) into the takeout containers and packing the takeout bags with utensils and drinks.

-              Assist with clean-up such as by wiping down table surfaces, washing dishes, sweeping the floor, and putting everything back where it belongs

-              Assist with sorting and bagging Last Mile food donations

-              Other miscellaneous tasks that need to be done in order to serve lunch

Girls on the Run offers afterschool programs for girls in 3rd-8th grade that build confidence, teach healthy habits, and unlock inner strength through running and walking. Coaches do NOT need to be runners, just committed to inspiring young girls and attending practices regularly.

What can YOU gain from coaching?

The Girls on the Run Cincinnati spring season is up next and we would love for you to join a team as a coach! Coaches and girls meet 2x/week for 8 weeks, starting March 2, 2026, culminating in the GOTR 5K event (date TBD but will be in early May)! Our research-based curriculum offers an easy-to-follow program and coaches are provided with all the necessary resources and materials to have a successful season. Teams have two to six coaches who lead the girls through their lessons of discussions, fun physical activities, and goal setting. Mt. Healthy is a small municipality north of College Hill, and our street tree program is all-volunteer run. We will be mulching street trees: light labor filling bags with wood chips and spreading the chips around the trees. Work gloves are all that's needed.

The thrifting is only about an hour long, but extra time is allocated for transportation. We meet in the parking lot at St. Vincent DePaul facing Chickering Ave between 8:50 and 9:10(+-). Help our residents start and keep up with their gardening plans this spring and summer! This activity will be at a residence in the Blue Ash area. The activity schedule is based upon when the volunteer is available. Most afternoons after 2pm will work for residents. 

Help our residents practice Yoga! Timing can be based upon volunteer's availability.

We are looking for individuals to help get our residents active and social. Whether it's attending a social event or just having a board game night, it's always a good time! The goal is relationship building! The timing can depend upon the volunteer's availability. 

Help get our Kennedy Heights community out and active! Every other Saturday we get outside to play various games like corn hole and latter ball. On rainy days we enjoy WI Sports or some rounds of Uno. We need volunteers to engage in these activities with our community. 

Hospice of Cincinnati is the largest non-profit hospice provider in the Cincinnati region and is a part of the TriHealth System. Vigil volunteers provide a compassionate presence and promote a relaxing environment for those in the last 24 - 48 hours of life when symptom management is not required. High need for Evening, Nights and Weekends. The duties include active listening, empathetic conversations, observing for symptom changes and escalating needs to the HOC care team. No hands-on care is required. Students are allowed to bring study materials while sitting vigil. The minimum shift is 2 hours although 4 hours is preferred. Shifts can be prescheduled or sign up same day. Transportation is required as most vigil requests occur in Assisted Living or Nursing home facilities. If you're mobile and are looking to fulfill a few hours of service, we have the perfect opportunity for you! All that is required is loading up as much as you can haul (or that we have) into your Smart car, Prius, S10, Van-life van or whatever and transporting our sorted goods to be rehoused. Whether you want to take it to your favorite non-profit organization or just want to rehouse it to one of our partners, the choice is up to you. We can help with the loading but if you want to bring a friend with you to help with the unloading, no problem!

Guests who arrive usually have cleaned clothes that they have previously left to be laundered. Once clean, we store a guests bag until they return. We are looking for individuals interested in assisting the process of going-for (go-pher this or go-pher that) guest bags, searching for shoes, helping to restock clothing that is provided to new guests and bringing the freshly laundered clothes downstairs to the front desk for distribution. If working in a non-profit and directly helping those in our community sounds like your thing, come give us a hand:)

*Note: this position requires minor lifting and walking with stairs involved. Those who cannot easily navigate both conditions may find this to be a difficult task and may want to look at a different opportunity offered by MMH

Social Media Intern Position

Groundwork Ohio River Valley Background:
Groundwork is where Justice and the Environment meet. We link the environment to quality-of-life initiatives through engagement, education, and employment. As part of the Groundwork USA network and
the National Park Service, we create programs and projects that address community needs.

Social Media Intern Overview:
The Social Media Intern is an unpaid internship that will assist in creating and managing digital content to engage Groundwork Ohio River Valley’s audience and amplify our impact. This internship role will last
approximately 3 months with the option to extend or to allow further flexibility if the applicant is enrolled in a participating university (this is not a requirement). This role is ideal for individuals interested in social media strategy, digital marketing, and storytelling for social change.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:
● Working with Program staff and Green Team to develop, curate, and schedule engaging content for social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Youtube).
● Monitor engagement, respond to comments/messages, and foster online community interactions.
● Assist in creating graphics, videos, and other multimedia content using design tools like Canva or Adobe Express.
● Support social media campaign planning, including environmental awareness initiatives.
● Research and identify digital trends and best practices for nonprofit outreach.
● Assist Operations Director with utilizing the Organization’s branding toolkit to ensure all staff are provided with a clear understanding of our best branding practices.
● Assist Operations Director with maintaining the organization’s website and ensuring that it stays up to date with current staff, news, job postings, etc.
● Manage and maintain the Social Media Calendar to schedule posts for all program areas.
● Update brochures, fliers, business cards, other electronic and printed materials to adhere to our branding guidelines.
● Maintain a photo and video library specifically in addition to all digital assets.

Community Outreach Intern Position

Community Outreach Intern Overview:
The Community Outreach Intern is an unpaid internship that will assist in engaging and mobilizing community members, organizations, and stakeholders to support Groundwork Ohio River Valley’s environmental and social justice initiatives. This internship role will last approximately 3 months with the
option to extend or to allow further flexibility if the applicant is enrolled in a participating university (this is not a requirement). This role is ideal for students or individuals passionate about community development, advocacy, and sustainability.

MMH is looking for a few hands to help us sort and organize our mountain of donations that we receive weekly. Supplying the unhoused OTR population with dignified clothing, creating care packages, and helping receive donations, we are looking for a few friendly hands to help us every week. We are looking for amazing companionship volunteers for our beloved hospice patients. Whether it is sitting and chatting, completing a craft, puzzle, or game together to just listening to them speak, reading to them, or sitting with them to watch their favorite TV show, you can do so much to enrich the lives of our patients that cannot get out and socialize like they used to. You may even have the opportunity to help their pets as a part of our Pet Peace of Mind Program by having a pet playdate, taking their pets on walks, and other pet care needs.

Most volunteers give about 4 hours a month of their time. Short term and long term opportunities are always available. There is a state required background check and drug test. And, in house training is provided.

Volunteers for this position will be responsible for the computer and audio-visual setup and monitoring for the Sierra Club Miami Group monthly Educational Forum. This is a hybrid in-person and Zoom meeting. After setup the volunteer will initiate the presentation recording, operate the camera and monitor the Zoom meeting. The Educational Forum occurs the first Monday of each month from 6:30-9:30PM. Strong preference for volunteers that can commit to an entire semester.

The CAIN Choice Pantry offers nutritious food to families in need.  We serve close to 100 guests/families each day our Pantry is open.  We are looking for volunteers to greet guests as they arrive at our Market, and to assist them as they are shopping.  If you speak Spanish, nearly half of our guests are Spanish speaking.  CAIN is committed to respecting the diversity of all of our families and guests, and we work hard to ensure that everyone is treated with dignity and with cultural considerations in mind.

Marjorie Book Continuing Education seeks volunteers to participate in and learn alongside adults and teens with disabilities.  Volunteers can be paired with an individual with a disability to help facilitate their participation in the class.

To help you, and our participants to get the most of the experience, volunteers are asked to read our volunteer handout prior to attending an event.

After having been away for a few years, the yoga class is back!  This class will guide participants in the understanding and practice of yoga. Yoga mats are provided as needed.  We will engage in the physical practice of yoga – preparing the body, stretching and strengthening, and then relaxing.  This course is intended for people with and without previous yoga experience, and people with and without disabilities. 

Saturday Hoops is a free group mentoring program of Cincinnati Youth Collaborative that strives to make a safe space for kids (ages 3-18) on Saturdays for them to learn new things, meet new friends, and develop skills that will help them become future leaders. We create this opportunity by providing food (breakfast and lunch) and doing activities such as basketball, soccer, arts and crafts, reading, yoga, football, workouts, and so much more. We also establish this safe space by having our volunteers promote a positive environment and demonstrating our core themes to students (Cheerful Giver, Hard Worker, Overcomer, and Good Steward). Join us in connecting with kids every Saturday from 9:30 am to 12:30 at one of our locations (Avondale, West End, Winton Hills, and at Zielger Park during the Summer).

Cincinnati Parks - Explore Nature is hosting a maple sugaring event at Caldwell Nature Preserve.

Maple Sugarin’ Time at Caldwell Nature Preserve is a program for adults and families to learn about the art of making maple syrup. There are 15 people per time slot arriving every 15 minutes. The program per person is around and hour and half.  

Volunteers may support this event in several ways, but parking attendant is the priority task.

Volunteers will be outdoors the whole time, this opportunity will require long periods of standing. Dress for the weather, close-toed shoes required.

Volunteer Tutors Needed For Award-Winning Adult Education Program

Who We Are & What We Do:

Seeds of Literacy is a unique, award-winning* one-to-one tutoring program for GED Prep and adult education. Tutors work with Seeds of Literacy students to help break a root cause of poverty: illiteracy. For 27 years we’ve served the Cleveland, Ohio, public with FREE GED Preparation and Adult Basic Education tutoring services. During the pandemic, we launched a Virtual Classroom serving adult learners. Once logged on to our Zoom room, students and tutors are matched by staff and sent to breakout zoom rooms to work as pairs. Staff is always available to join or provide assistance if needed.

Requirements:

Tutors do NOT need to be career educators. We have realtors, beauticians, college students, retirees, lawyers, marketing people, and yeah, some teachers. We provide a comprehensive tutor training, ongoing professional development, and all of the study materials. Each student works on his or her own speed with a tutor.

Build a one-on-one relationship with a young person aged 13-18. Share your life experience, skills, and wisdom to help them set and achieve goals. Be a positive role model by spending quality time together weekly, engaging in fun activities, and exploring personal growth.

Mentors play a vital role in shaping the lives of youth in our community. Studies show that mentored youth are: More likely to graduate high school and pursue higher education. Less likely to engage in risky behaviors. Better equipped to build healthy relationships and envision a brighter future.

This role will collaborate with internal teams to gather information for grant applications and ensure all submissions are timely, accurate, and in alignment with the organization’s goals.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Fundraiser, you will be at the forefront of our mission to generate financial support that powers our programs and initiatives. This role involves developing creative, impactful fundraising strategies and organizing events to build awareness and drive donations. You will work closely with our marketing and communications teams to engage supporters, build strong relationships with donors, and reach fundraising targets.

The Youth Mentorship program matches a mentor with a client between the ages of 15-24 for a minimum period of 6 months. After interviewing with us, you will be matched with a refugee mentee with similar interests and skills. You will meet with your mentee weekly to work on the goals they have set for themselves, which may include educational, career, socio-emotional support. Common goals include English conversation practice, computer literacy, college/technical school information, applying for jobs, exploring the resources in Covington and Cincinnati, and learning about American culture through field trips and activities.

Mentors are invited to participate in group field trips and events hosted by KRM throughout the year. Experience working with youth or international populations preferred, but all are welcome to apply. Second language not required. Contact spetersen@kyrm.org for questions.

Volunteer support for fall 2024 Small Business Markets for Net Impact

Program Description: Buddy Up Pickleball is a moderate-intensity workout promoting hand-eye coordination, agility, and core strength for our Athletes with Down syndrome (ages 12+). Our 60-minute clinic consists of 50 minutes of professional pickleball and 10 minutes of ball control and tracking activities. Athletes are partnered with Buddy Volunteers (ages 14+) to provide support, develop friendships, and reinforce the Coaches’ instructions. Coaches are trained to implement the pickleball curriculum specifically created for Athletes with Down syndrome. Join us on the courts!

Our Buddy Up Pickleball program is held on Saturday mornings at Ronnie Grandison Sports Academy.

We welcome the homeless and urban poor in Over-the-Rhine to a space where dignity and respect are at the forefront as they share a meal served by compassionate volunteers.

Breakfast and Dinner are offered to our guests Monday through Friday (excluding major holidays). Volunteers are needed for both shifts, and scheduling is completely flexible and open to you!  The volunteer shifts run from 6:45 - 9:00am and 3:45 - 6:00pm.
