Come together for to fundraise for this nonprofit! We will be walking 5 laps around Nippert concourse! Do you enjoy research and want to make a real difference in your community right from home? Join us as a Volunteer Researcher for Ways to Connect, a national crowdsourced directory of volunteer platforms.

Many people want to volunteer but struggle to find the right entry points—especially in smaller towns or underserved areas. At the same time, local volunteer centers and grassroots groups often go unnoticed due to low visibility. Ways to Connect bridges this gap by helping people discover the best local websites, service clubs, and networks already in place.

As a Volunteer Researcher, your work will directly improve the visibility of these resources, making it easier for neighbors to find meaningful ways to give back.

What You’ll Do:

Conduct simple online research to identify local volunteer platforms, service clubs, mutual aid groups, and upcoming events for communities around the country.

Update and enrich your community’s page on Ways to Connect, ensuring content is accurate, current, and inviting.

Flexibility: Volunteer anytime, anywhere—it’s fully remote.

Small time commitment: Contribute as little as 2 hours, or as much as you’d like.

Immediate impact: Your research helps neighbors discover real ways to serve their community.

Skill-building: Strengthen online research, critical thinking, and content creation skills.

Growth opportunities: Explore deeper involvement through our Ambassador Program.

Recognition: See your contributions go live on a national platform, with the option to be credited on our Contributors page.

The Norwood View Elementary PTO is hosting a Fall Festival. Norwood View is a small, Title 1 school with about 300 students Pre-K- 5. The PTO is hoping to encourage community engagement with a fun, affordable, family activity close to home. We are in need of volunteers to help run games, manage small concessions, or supervise the 2 inflatables we have rented. Volunteers would also help in setting up and tearing down the activities.

When you arrive to 2728 Short Vine St., you will check-in, grab a provided trash grabber, and either a bucket or a trash bag to collect any trash found. After you check-in, you will need to watch a safety video made by UCPD police officers. You will not be permitted to volunteer until after you watch the safety video. 

Choose any area in the surrounding community to get started! You can clean up near the check-in site in Corryville—or you can make your way to a place a little further away. This option could be useful if you want to clean-up the pathway that you usually take to class, or if you'd like to clean somewhere where you typically spend a lot of time.

Make sure to arrive with enough time to finish the clean up! We suggest giving yourself one hour—at least—to check-in, clean, and check-out. All supplies will need to be checked back in to 2728 Short Vine St. at 5:50pm. The opportunity ends at 6:00pm, but to allow time for check-out, please arrive at 5:50pm. The opportunity starts at 1:00pm, but feel free to arrive any time before 5:00pm. You will most likely get turned away if you arrive after 5:00pm because there will not be enough time to complete the clean up in that timeframe.

How are my volunteer hours determined?

** If you do not completely fill your bucket/bag, the hours awarded for

your service will be decided by the event organizer.**

Since the event is 5 hours long, 5 hours is displayed below. Volunteer hours only follow the guidelines outlined above.

If you're participating with a group, the total trash collected will be divided amongst the total number of group members.

We are looking for 10 friendly, professional and community minded students to assist in a Customer Service capacity at our signature fundraising gala: Party In The House.

Hosted in conjunction with leaders of the Cincinnati Interior Design community, this event combines creativity, compassion, philanthropy and fun!

Your duties will include welcoming our guests, handing out programs, providing directions for various experiences within the venue and more.

There will be a brief orientation about New Life Furniture Bank and an overview of the evening's itinerary at 5:00PM, with your duties winding down at about 8:00-8:30PM. (You will be credited 4 volunteer service hours.)

Dress code: we ask that you wear all black; a volunteer designation badge/name tag will be provided upon check in. Non-alcoholic beverages will be provided.

Together we will raise funds to continue to train firefighters and to support our fire prevention programs across Africa to end the devastating impact that uncontrolled fire has on the lives, health and wellness of individuals and communities across Africa. The Family & Community Outreach Intern will play a key role in strengthening GiGi’s Playhouse Cincinnati’s connections with families, volunteers, and the broader community. This position is ideal for students who are passionate about inclusion, advocacy, and nonprofit work. Interns will gain valuable hands-on experience in community engagement, event planning, and nonprofit program delivery while directly supporting individuals with Down syndrome and their families.

Assist with planning, organizing, and facilitating community engagement events and outreach programs.

Conduct outreach efforts to build relationships with families, local organizations, and community partners.

Support recruitment, onboarding, and training of Playhouse Ambassadors (adult self-advocates representing GiGi’s in the community).

Serve as a voice and representative of the Playhouse at outreach events and community engagements.

Perform light office/clerical work as needed.

Must be able to commit to the full duration of the internship. (October 2025-July 2026)

18 years of age or older.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Experience working with individuals with disabilities, nonprofits, or community engagement (preferred but not required).

Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a background check.

Availability for flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends.

Join us for the final harvest of the season at UC Clermont Community Garden the morning of October 10, 2025!  Volunteers will harvest remaining crops and prepare vegetable beds and pollinator garden for fall and winter dormancy.  Bring your favorite pair of tree limb loppers for an invasive honeysuckle bushwhacking party following the garden harvest. We will have a wood chipper on site to aid in forest understory clearing and planting of native prairie grasses and coneflowers.

Cards for Cincinnati Youth Collaborative

We’ll be coloring pages for Color-A-Smile, a non-profit organization that spreads cheer by sending drawings to senior citizens, troops overseas, and anyone in need of a smile.

If possible, please bring your own colored pens, markers, or pencils, but we’ll also have some supplies available!

Looking for volunteers to work with the BYOC team to promote events, share info and sell tickets.  Also provide staffing help during the events.  There are 3 events upcoming during 2025 - Sept 12, Nov 6 and Dec 13.

Join us for a special Veterans Card Making Event on Monday, October 27, 2025, in TUC 419.

This event is an opportunity to show gratitude and appreciation to our veterans through the power of thoughtful words and creativity. Participants are encouraged to bring homemade cards crafted with care, including a warm message of thanks and support inside. Cards should be of good quality to ensure they can be shared proudly with veterans who have served our country.

Your handmade cards will brighten the day of those who have given so much, reminding them that their sacrifices are recognized and appreciated.

Join the spooky fun and earn service hours at Haunted Village—our biggest fundraiser of the year! We need 65+ volunteers each night to help bring the Village to life with creepy characters, candy, and crowd control.

Saturday Hoops is a free group mentoring program of Cincinnati Youth Collaborative that strives to make a safe space for kids (ages 5-18) on Saturdays for them to learn new things, meet new friends, and develop skills that will help them become future leaders. We create this opportunity by providing food (breakfast and lunch) and doing activities such as basketball, soccer, arts and crafts, reading, yoga, football, workouts, and so much more. We also establish this safe space by having our volunteers promote a positive environment and demonstrating our core themes to students (Cheerful Giver, Hard Worker, Overcomer, and Good Steward). Join us in connecting with kids every Saturday from 9:30 am to 12:30 at one of our locations (Avondale, West End, Winton Hills). 

Would you like to make a difference in an inner city neighborhood in Cincinnati? We're helping seniors who can't keep up with the work needed around their houses. We need volunteers to paint, clean out brush, and perform basic repairs inside and outside homes in Avondale.  No experience is necessary, just a willing heart and helping hands!

Please dress in older clothes because you'll get messy!  

Where: Meet at Compassionate Justice Ministry Center, 3494 Reading Road, Cincinnati, OH 45229.

We are looking for UC students who enjoy playing chess and are interested in volunteering with our elementary students. Don't know how to play chess? We could still benefit from having you sit with the students to encourage them and to assist the chess coach with logistics. Join us! 

Love playing with kids? We'd love to have you help with childcare on Sunday, October 12 from 1:30pm - 5:30pm. The parents/caregivers will be adults from our school, as well as the greater community. We have great green space as well as an awesome playground under our school. Our building sits on stilts so kids can play outside rain or shine. If the weather is not amazing, we also have a big gym and cafeteria for inside play.

Join us as a childcare volunteer during our monthly foster parent meetings! You'll help supervise and engage children in fun activities while caregivers attend training.

If you donate Platelets/Plasma you will receive five (5) hours of community service.

If you are DEFFERRED (not allowed to donate due to a medical issue that is not your fault), you can submit up to two 2 hours for your time.

Once you have donated and submitted your hours for approval, we will look in our system to verify your donation and then approve your hours.  If you haven't donated yet, please do not submit time for hours, as we will verify all hours with our donation records and if we don't find your information, will decline your hours.

At Give Like a Mother (GLAM), our goal is to get kids to school dressed in a way that makes them feel comfortable and confident. We use gently used and new donations from the community to provide Personalized, Age-appropriate, Confidence-boosting Kits (PACKs), which include a week’s worth of outfits.

Volunteer Opportunities include:

Sorting clothing
Making outfits
Pairing pajamas
Hanging and organizing
Bundling socks and underwear
Fulfilling clothing requests

As a Welcome Mentor, you’ll play a vital role in creating a warm and supportive environment for English learners. Volunteers help set up and tear down the classroom space, greet and welcome students, and support the instructor during class activities. This opportunity is perfect for UC students who enjoy meeting new people, building cross-cultural friendships, and making others feel at home. No teaching experience or foreign language skills are required—just a welcoming spirit and a willingness to help.

This job will be using Canva to design videos for affirmations.  Standards and templates are provided.
