Volunteer: Writing WorkshopOur mission is to bring teenagers and adults with and without disabilities together for projects of mutual interest. We have proudly offered continuing education classes, service projects and theatrical plays to the community for the last 30 years. This workshop is a follow up to our ongoing Local Writers and Local Poets classes. We will spend about 90 minutes developing your pieces of writing that you have already begun in class or at home. This is a great way to put pen to paper or finger to keyboard and revise and enhance a story that you have started previously in our workshops. After having finished memoir writing, we are slowly working on developing our second piece of writing, which is focused on world buiding. Anyone is welcome – just know that this is primarily a workshop to get writing time (and not a class on writing). Volunteers will work with participants with disabilities to facilitate getting words to paper and brainstorming ideas as well as participating in the class. To help you, and our participants to get the most of the experience, volunteers are asked to read our volunteer handout prior to attending an event. We need someone to write code that forces them to choose a store to shop from and only allows them to shop from that store's inventory.
