This position is for M1-M2 MEDICAL STUDENTS only.
This position is open to any M1-M2. Visitors of the Healing Center come for basic needs such as food and clothing and can be seen by us for acute complaints if they are uninsured. Your role will be to measure vital signs and conduct a history/physical exam. With the assistance of an M3-M4, you will develop an assessment/plan and present the patient case to the preceptor. Additional responsibilities may involve operating the UC SRFC front desk at the Healing Center. This includes but is not limited to advertising our free health screenings, clinic visits, and other medical resources within the community.
Please arrive at the Healing Center by 8:30 AM. Park behind the building and enter through the staff/volunteer entrances in the back or along the side of the building. Once inside the warehouse, locate the door designated for volunteers. Continue forward through the hallway and past the check-in desk to enter the main lobby. Walk towards the right and past the marketplace and clothing store to meet the team in room 490.
Dress code is business casual or scrubs with white coat and UC badge. Please store any personal belongings in your car. PPE (face masks, eye protection, etc.) are currently optional, but this is subject to change based on guidance from the College of Medicine.
