Volunteers of all ages are welcome to join us as we create Monarch Waystations and a native Bee Sanctuary. Start the day with a brief lesson about the role pollinators play in our agriculture and environment. We will then be going to multiple areas around our 122 acre non-profit farm to create specific habitats for pollinators. Work side by side with passionate volunteers to cut down honeysuckle with loppers, remove debris, and plant prairie grass seeds, milkweed seedlings and nectar plants.
How This Helps Our Community
Through this program we hope to educate volunteers on the role pollinators play in our ecosystem and the benefit to humans. Learn about the plight and challenges of Bees and Butterflies and then take action here on our Farm which gives hope. This also helps support our mission here at the Farm to educate about environment, sustainability, nutrition, and agriculture. After the event, the volunteers can discuss ways to become advocates for pollinators and also how to create healthy habitats in their own homes and communities.
IF INTERESTED, WE WILL ASK YOU TO PLEASE SIGN-UP ON THE ALLFORGOOD WEBSITE of https://www.allforgood.org/projects/rQ6yP7kw SO THAT WE CAN TRACK THE CUMULATIVE VOLUNTEER COUNT OF 75 VOLUNTEERS.
Thank you for understanding. Thank you in advance for your help. This should be great fun!
