Join CUFNA community volunteers for their Spring Cleanups (Green Up Days!!)
All materials will be provided.
Volunteers will use pitchforks to load mulch in to wheelbarrows and heavy rakes to distribute the mulch and wood chips around the the trees and designated areas throughout the park. Litter sticks, buckets and bags will be used to remove litter and debris from areas. Lopper and handsaws will be used to remove invasive plants to clear sight lines. Parks staff and our experienced volunteers will provide orientation and guidance through the process.
Volunteers should be prepared for the weather, wear long pants and layers (long sleeves), close-toed shoes are required. Gloves recommended, there will be a limited supply on site. Suggested: refillable water bottle - there will be water cooler on site for volunteers to fill a bottle. Cincinnati Parks discourages single - use plastics.
2023 SPRING SCHEDULE
Join community volunteers for an Green Up Day. Volunteers will work in Fairview Park to remove brush and honeysuckle to improve sightlines and increase safety in the park.
*Lower Fairview Park, between the corner of West McMillan and McMicken and the steps which lead from McMicken to Fairview Park Drive, there is a small playset there. (This area is not along the main Fairview Park Drive)
Join Community volunteers in an Earth Day event to distribute mulch and woodchips throughout the park, and remove honeysuckle to improve sightlines and safety in the park.
