You must select EVERY weekly session in order to be properly registered. Even if you know you will be absent on a specific day you must register for all sessions. *Tip: Toggle the "Register to All Shifts" button to "Yes" upon registering.

Attendance: "Tap-Out" at the front desk of your school by using your mobile device. Scan the QR code and fill out the brief survey, and request service hours if you are volunteering. Failure to "Tap-Out" could result in service hours not being properly logged and verified.

Training: Training is required for all tutors annually. If you missed the Fall 2025 Orientation, you must attend the Spring 2026 In-Person Orientation on January 20, 2026 from 4PM - 7PM at TUC Great Hall. You will receive three service hours for attending. Please email BearcatBuddies@uc.edu for more information. 

Background Check: All tutors are required to complete a local background each year. Background check forms can be found here, but will also be distributed to all tutors in person and via email. Please print out the form, complete it with the instructions below, and bring it with you to the training. Contact BearcatBuddies@uc.edu with questions or concerns.  

Directions for Background Check Submission: 1) Cannot be filled out with a pencil, only pen. 2) Must be printed signed with a pen, then scanned/photographed and emailed. 3) Must have a full address including address, city, and zip code. 4) Must include a photo copy of the front of your ID. If you do not have a social security number, a photo copy of your passport photo, including passport number, will suffice.
