This is a virtual need for volunteers who self-identify with Autism and/or a Specific Learning Disability (e.g. Dyslexia) only.
Work with Dr. Michelle Curtin for a discussion and simulation day to help doctors better serve patients with Autism and/or a Specific Learning Disability.
We are seeking 2-4 students who self-identify with Autism and/or a Specific Learning Disability (e.g. Dyslexia) to:
- 1:30 - 3:30p: Participate as “actors” during a simulated, virtual primary care visit. Scripts will be provided.
- 3:30 - 4:00p: Come talk about their personal experiences and perspectives on what they wish their primary care providers knew/did to help them.
- Participate in a planning meeting on Friday, February 19. Time TBD.
An additional 1 hour meeting two weeks prior will be held to discuss the scripts, information about the topic, and how the simulation day will work. The total commitment is 3.5 hours.
