Date & Duration: Saturday, March 16th, 1:00pm - 4:00pm
Meeting Location: Middletown Community Garden - 800 LaFayette Ave, Middletown, OH 45044
Tasks: We will be working with programming staff to prep the community gardens for the planting season tasks include weeding/repairing beds/fixing the shed/hanging hoses/spreading dirt/digging up some fruit plants to be moved to CHF/removing debris from compost/flipping compost/planting cold veggies
What to Wear & Bring:
- Long pants
- Sturdy, closed-toed shoes
- Weather-appropriate clothing and layers (Warm jacket, rain jacket, hat, extra layer, etc.)
- Sunglasses (Optional; For sun protection during outside activities.)
- Work gloves (Optional; Available through MetroParks.)
- Water bottle (we will have a refill station avalible)
- Snacks
- It is recommended you bring your tools but we will have tools avalible
Weather: We will work through light rain but cancel for thunderstorms or severe weather. Please check the forecast to ensure you all bring the necessary items and wear the proper clothing.
Accommodations: The MetroParks may provide accommodation to volunteer project participants depending on the nature of the tasks. Any request must be sent directly to the Manager of Volunteer Resources at least two days before the project begins.
