Volunteers will either do a demonstration or interpret a building. Demonstrations can include historic games, toys, butter churning, textile demonstrations, candle dipping, cider making, and food preservation. A short script will be provided for building docents and demonstrators will receive a quick training at the beginning of their shift. Historical clothing will be provided when possible. Men, please come dressed in khaki pants and we will provide a shirt and vest. Women, please come dressed in something that is easy to put a dress over (ex: tank top and shorts). If possible, please wear black or brown boots or shoes. No tennis shoes or flip flops.
The demonstrations will take place on Sept. 3, 17, and 24 with timeslots from 10 a.m. to 1 :30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. We can work with your schedule and accommodate other timeslots between the hours of 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. (ex: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.) Please let Bethany know what you would like to demonstrate or if you'd prefer to be a building docent. After signing up, you will receive an email with event details such as where to check-in, where to park, etc.
