We have been gleaning (harvesting for donation) cherry tomatoes from a farm in Verona, KY, and this is our final shift. The work will involve standing and/or squatting along rows of trellised tomato plants in a grassy field, sorting split and marketable tomatoes, and carrying up to 10 lbs. at a time.
Volunteers must adhere to particular food safety guidelines per the grower's request, and must also sign a liability waiver for Soc. of St. Andrew.
In order to participate in this shift, volunteers must register at https://endhunger.org/ohio/, create a volunteer profile (where you can sign our waiver), then choose a shift under "Field Gleaning Kentucky".
*We are happy to vouch for volunteer hours via this site, once shift is completed.
**Students under the age of 18 may participate with a waiver signed by a parent or guardian.
