Generous vendors at this market donate unsold food items, weekly at the end of market, with the help of volunteers (like you!) who collect, weigh, and record the donations. You then hand the donations off to a Last Mile Food Rescue volunteer who takes them to the Norwood Salvation Army Rehabilitation Center.
Expect to do some lifting when you carry (or pull in a cart) laundry baskets of donated food. Madeira Market operates on Thursday evenings, May - December. We glean from 6:30-7:15pm May-October, and 5:30-6:15pm November-December.
