Volunteer: URGENT: Emergency Warming Center Volunteers in OTR

Due to dangerously cold temperatures, St. Francis Seraph Ministries is being activated as an Emergency Warming Center in Over-the-Rhine (OTR). We urgently need compassionate volunteers to help us care for our neighbors who are most vulnerable during this extreme cold.

Volunteers will help with:

Serving meals to guests throughout the day

Assisting with bag check

Sanitizing and cleaning the dining room and lobby

Offering warmth, kindness, and hospitality to our guests

There are three shifts available each day, and you can sign up for the one that best fits your schedule:

Morning Shift:  6am - 10:30am

Mid-Day Shift: 10:30am - 2:30pm

Evening Shift:  2:30pm - 6:30pm

This is a powerful way to make a real impact in our community during a critical time. Your presence helps ensure that our guests have a warm, safe place to be and a hot meal during life-threatening weather conditions.

Are you a healthcare student or someone passionate about making a direct impact on the well-being of others?  Join our Foot Care for the Souls program and help care for the most vulnerable in Greater Cincinnati. This unique program provides essential foot care, including cleaning, foot massages and distributing new socks and shoes, to individuals experiencing homelessness and marginalization - people who often spend long hours on their feet.

Why Volunteer?  As a volunteer, you'll have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a healthcare setting while building personal connections with those who need special care. Foot health is critical for those facing housing insecurity, and your work will make a significant difference in their daily lives.

What You'll Do: 

Provide basic foot care under the guidance of a senior registered nurseOffer foot massages and help distribute new socks and shoesLearn essential skills from experienced medical professionals

Training and Support: You don't need prior medical experience - comprehensive training will be provided during your first sessions, ensuring you're comfortable and confident before caring for clients independently. An experienced nurse practitioner oversees the program and is available for support and additional guidance.
