Volunteer: Move-In Recycling 2026Moving generates a lot of waste, especially on college campuses. Help us divert from the landfill (and reduce our emissions!) by breaking down & hauling cardboard during residence hall move in! Your shift will consist of: assignment to 1-3 residence hallswelcoming new students & their familiesoffering to take any cardboard waste off their handstransporting cardboard to recycling dumpstersensuring the cardboard is broken down & contains no trash (styrofoam, flexible plastic, etc are not recyclable!)Volunteers will arrive on-time to their selected shift at the Sigma Sigma Commons tower (pictured below), where they will sign in, receive further instructions, & be shown to their assigned location. Any volunteers that arrive more than 10 minutes late to their shift will be dismissed. Wearing closed-toe shoes and bringing a water bottle is recommended!
