Volunteer: Fostering

**We would love to have you at Cincinnati Animal CARE, but before you begin all students interested in Fostering MUST apply online at cincinnatianimalcare.org/foster and complete the required foster onboarding. From there a member of our foster team will reach out to you to schedule your foster pickup. Any person recording hours for Fostering MUST have an application or profile in our system, My Impact. If you do not have an application or profile in our system your hours will be denied. Please DO NOT come to the shelter to pick up a foster until your application has been completed and our foster team has verified your pick up.**

Fostering (Short-Term & Long Term)
Fostering is super flexible and free! A foster session can range from an overnight sleep over to holding onto the animal until adoption. When you are fostering with us we provide everything!  Dog crate, food, treats, medical care, etc.  This is completely free for you and a great help for us at the shelter by clearing kennel space so we can take more dogs in.  You'll always have access to the foster coordinator for any concerns or questions you have along the way.  We do ask for 48 hours notice should you need to return the dog earlier than planned.

Recording Foster Hours: An active foster will acquire 3 hours per day of volunteer hours. The number of foster pets in one’s care does not alter the number of hours acquired per day. Foster-to-Volunteer hours may only be logged upon the completion of a foster(s) and should be recorded as one lump sum on your My Impact Page (ex. 5 days of fostering = 15 Volunteer hours).

Help with cleaning dishes and enrichment items at the shelter.  This is an EXTREMELY helpful position since it's time consuming for the animal care staff to do this.  Taking on this task for them gives them more time to keep the kennels clean and socialize with the animals.

If all dishes are cleaned, there's is always a need for laundry to be done as well.  This may be on the dirtier side but we can offer gloves to volunteers.  This again greatly frees up the time of the animal care staff.

This opportunity is located at both 3949 Colerain Ave and 4210 Dane Ave.
