Our Greenspace Team is looking for some support with the planters that beautify Fort Washington Way Bridges @ Race Street.

Parks has been fortunate to have the amazing support of volunteers as an annual event planting the bridges, providing hundreds of volunteers over the years. We are looking for some on-going support to keep that hard work looking beautiful and the beds healthy.

Individuals or groups can participate on the third Wednesday of each month from June through November, with the November 20th date as a tear out.  

Staff will meet will guide the works each session. We will provide what is needed.

We are a new Nonprofit called Fathers 4 Life and we help parents and children in split family situations! We are looking for someone to help us build our website. The Videographer will be responsible for planning, filming, and editing video content for our organization’s various channels, including social media, website, and events. This role will work closely with the marketing and program teams to produce high-quality videos that engage audiences, highlight our mission, and drive awareness.

The Social Media Content Creator will be responsible for developing and executing engaging, on-brand content for our social media channels, including Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and TikTok. This role will collaborate with marketing and program teams to plan, create, and publish content that promotes our mission, engages followers, and drives measurable impact.

The Grant Writer will identify, research, and write proposals to secure grants and funding opportunities from various sources, including federal, state, and local governments, private foundations, and corporate sponsors. This role will collaborate with internal teams to gather information for grant applications and ensure all submissions are timely, accurate, and in alignment with the organization’s goals.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Fundraiser, you will be at the forefront of our mission to generate financial support that powers our programs and initiatives. This role involves developing creative, impactful fundraising strategies and organizing events to build awareness and drive donations. You will work closely with our marketing and communications teams to engage supporters, build strong relationships with donors, and reach fundraising targets.

The Youth Mentorship program matches a mentor with a client between the ages of 15-24 for a minimum period of 6 months. After interviewing with us, you will be matched with a refugee mentee with similar interests and skills. You will meet with your mentee weekly to work on the goals they have set for themselves, which may include educational, career, socio-emotional support. Common goals include English conversation practice, computer literacy, college/technical school information, applying for jobs, exploring the resources in Covington and Cincinnati, and learning about American culture through field trips and activities.

Mentors are invited to participate in group field trips and events hosted by KRM throughout the year. Experience working with youth or international populations preferred, but all are welcome to apply. Second language not required. Contact spetersen@kyrm.org for questions.

Program Description: Buddy Up Pickleball is a moderate-intensity workout promoting hand-eye coordination, agility, and core strength for our Athletes with Down syndrome (ages 12+). Our 60-minute clinic consists of 50 minutes of professional pickleball and 10 minutes of ball control and tracking activities. Athletes are partnered with Buddy Volunteers (ages 14+) to provide support, develop friendships, and reinforce the Coaches’ instructions. Coaches are trained to implement the pickleball curriculum specifically created for Athletes with Down syndrome. Join us on the courts!

Our Buddy Up Pickleball program is held on Saturday mornings at Ronnie Grandison Sports Academy.

We’re looking for some help preparing the Swag Bags for our Youth Leadership Seminar. This year, we're expecting around 1,400 students and teachers, and each will receive a Swag Bag filled with goodies like coupons, snacks, etc. We need extra hands to help pack these bags ahead of time!

There are 1,400 total Swag Bags to pack; Volunteers just need to make sure each bag gets one of each item.

OCVJC’s mission is to ensure that the rights of Ohio’s state and federal crime victims are enforced and protected. To fulfill its mission, OCVJC provides free legal representation and advocacy services to enforce crime victims’ rights and provide victims’ rights training to criminal justice system officials, allied professionals, drop-in trauma centers, and youth of all ages in school and after school programs in all of Ohio’s 88 counties. OCVJC offers advocacy internships for students eager to support victim-survivors as they navigate the criminal justice system. Students will have the opportunity to shadow Victims' Rights Attorneys and Advocates based on their area of interest. They will collaborate closely with OCVJC staff to complete tasks such as submitting public records requests to law enforcement or prosecutor offices, assisting advocates with case management tasks, attending virtual meetings and trainings, accompanying attorneys/advocates to in-person/virtual hearings in both trial and appellate court, participating in community outreach events, contributing to safety planning, conducting research on victims' rights, assisting with case briefings, and updating resources as needed.

Hope Ignites Cincinnati is in need of ongoing Tutoring/Homework assistance for grades 9-11. Monday - Thursday 3 pm - 4 pm. Ideally you would volunteer at least one day a week or every other week. The Gujarati Student Association (GUSA) has an exciting opportunity to support both its mission and Red Saree, Inc. by participating in a shift at a Bengals game. By volunteering to work at the game, GUSA members can raise funds for the club's cultural events and initiatives while also contributing to Red Saree’s goal of promoting healthcare awareness among South Asian communities in the U.S. This collaboration not only helps GUSA sustain its activities but also strengthens its partnership with a nonprofit organization dedicated to meaningful causes. We're seeking motivated, faith and mental health-minded UC students who want to help others - and have fun doing it!

This new Map for Life club at UC is based on our proven Map program, which helps individuals, couples and families physically, emotionally, relationally and spiritually, including life purpose. Now we want to offer it to more students and others you may know. We want to help prevent life problems BEFORE they start or keep them from getting worse.  

The Coordinator role is part of a student leadership team or board, who report to the executive director in Dayton, Ohio. The first step in kicking off a new group is to build a leadership team and a number of other participants. You'll work as a team to recruit and kick off the club and then help promote and maintain it over time. We have a head start, but we can use your help! You'll have direct support from the executive director and others.

This coach will plan weekly to every other week fun activities for students in TAP to attend.  Activities can include various things such as painting, Pictionary, movie night, yoga, kickball, puzzles, etc.  The coach will determine a schedule for event nights and activities for the semester and will facilitate the group for any students interested in attending. The expectation is 1-2 hours of volunteer time every week to two weeks.  This is great for experience in small group facilitation and activity/group planning. All groups take place on UC's main campus.

Tuesdays and Thursdays, 1hour each day, 1pm-2pm; 10 BCB students needed each day. (prefer the same students on Tuesday and on Thursday).

We're looking for one or two steady volunteers to help declutter our garden shed and tool inventory in order to create a welcoming and efficient environment for our community of gardeners and volunteers at the Village Green Foundation.

The dresses are for Prom and Homecoming dances and can be long or short, they must be formal dresses (not everyday dresses) and must be relatively clean with no stains or rips.

Our 7th and 8th grade students are in need of after school homework tutors, consistently on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

We are looking for an advisor to support our school's robotics team. Our students are very interested in learning how to build, program and operate machinery. We want some one that can encourage them to learn and grow their interests in technology.

Tuesdays 2:15p-4:00pm

We are looking for tutors to assist students in kindergarten-6th grade with their homework and additional fun and educational activities. Homework club takes place from 4:00-5:30 Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. We are looking for volunteers to commit for the same day each week for the entire semester/year so that they can be paired with the same child each week. We are just a 5 minute drive from the UC campus and within walking distance. Volunteers do not need to be Christian. This is a secular program. 

The children in the program primarily live in the Camp Washington neighborhood of Cincinnati, which is a very low income neighborhood, where most families are in poverty. This is a fulfilling opportunity to develop a meaningful relationship with a child and serve as a positive role model.

Fostering (Short-Term & Long Term)
Fostering is super flexible and free! A foster session can range from an overnight sleep over to holding onto the animal until adoption. When you are fostering with us we provide everything!  Dog crate, food, treats, medical care, etc.  This is completely free for you and a great help for us at the shelter by clearing kennel space so we can take more dogs in.  You'll always have access to the foster coordinator for any concerns or questions you have along the way.  We do ask for 48 hours notice should you need to return the dog earlier than planned. 

Recording Foster Hours: An active foster will acquire 3 hours per day of volunteer hours. The number of foster pets in one’s care does not alter the number of hours acquired per day. Foster-to-Volunteer hours may only be logged upon the completion of a foster(s) and should be recorded as one lump sum on your My Impact Page (ex. 5 days of fostering = 15 Volunteer hours).

Join us at our offsite Adoption Events! The shelter can sometimes be an overwhelming space for our dogs and cats, because of this smaller offsite events can give them a chance to shine and find their forever homes. At our Adoption Events volunteers will help to provide care for the animals in attendance, answer questions from potential adopters, and help complete paperwork when an adoption is made.

The Vigil Volunteer offers companionship, comfort and presence to patients during the time
immediately prior to their death. Support can be provided to patients who have no family to be with them or to provide support and guidance to families and caregivers, helping to relieve the unknown; this may also include staff if the patient resides at a facility. Support is provided in a variety of ways, including being a calm presence, talking and listening to the family/ caregivers, or sharing silence. This opportunity will take place all throughout Cincinnati centrally, on the west east and north side.

QUALIFICATIONS
The Vigil Volunteer must have an understanding of Hospice philosophy and be familiar with the dying process, i.e. recognize when death is imminent. He/ she will receive additional education/ training on anticipatory grief, empathetic presence, reflective listening, and the rights of the dying. He/ she must be a strong communicator, be comfortable around death and be able to maintain composure in stressful situations. He/ she must also be willing to be called for assignment on short-notice and have some flexibility with scheduling

CABVI's Radio Reading Services is in need of a Board Operator. Knowledge of or ability to learn radio production. Ability to speak clearly and concisely.

Here is the Job Description and Qualifications:

Engineering assistance to record and edit programs for our radio broadcast and podcast channels, covering a shift of 2-4 hours weekly.

May include the following responsibilities:

·        Prepare playlists.

·        Record and edit audio files.

·        Upload podcasts to our podcast channels.

·        Interact with volunteers to record readings and ensure a quality program as well as a positive volunteer experience.

·        Skilled in using computers, iPads, audio boards, and editing software.

·        Help record volunteers’ service time promptly, according to CABVI procedures.

·        Make a six-month commitment to Cincinnati Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired (CABVI).

Qualifications: Knowledge of and experience in radio production, audio editing (Audition software preferred), and broadcasting. Ability to speak clearly and concisely. CABVI volunteers must pass a background check and abide by a signed conduct and confidentiality agreement.

We are looking for someone to conduct a 30-60 minute music therapy class on a monthly basis for our aging campus. 

Calling all musicians! We're looking for volunteers to play live music for our residents. We have pianos and welcome all instruments! 

This would be a bi-weekly activity based upon the volunteer's availability. Right now we are looking at Mon-Thurs evenings and Friday mornings. 

St. Vincent de Paul NKY is urgently in need of volunteers to serve as Dock Assistants at our Erlanger Donation Center. Join the Cincinnati Chapter of Ballet & Books as an Dance Teaching Assistant!

Ballet & Books is a National nonprofit reducing the literacy gap through the hybrid storytelling of literacy and dance. Our chapters are run by college students at universities around the country (Duke, Princeton, Cornell, UMICH, etc.).

The Cincinnati chapter of Ballet & Books meets to put on free dance and literacy programming for children at the Walnut Hills Branch Library from 12pm-1:30pm for 8 Saturdays each semester (Fall and Spring). Long Term Role

Peer Partners

Peer Partners are the trusted volunteers that participate in our adult social clubs. Social clubs serve as an opportunity for our adults with Down syndrome to take a leadership role in planning and implementing their own social activities. These clubs were created to empower adults and increase independence.

There are numerous social clubs throughout our twelve-county radius. Each club consists of four to eight adults with Down syndrome and two peer partners. Social clubs meet regularly once a month, and the goal is to create a consistent schedule (ex: 1st Friday of the month at 7 pm). Typically, each member of the social club plans one monthly outing per year to give each member and peer partner an opportunity to ‘host’. Activities can include sporting events, bowling, dinners, art classes, grill outs, etc. Activities take place in one location to avoid "in between" transportation. Social club members pay for their own participation in an activity, while Peer Partners are reimbursed for their activity (up to $25).

Peer Partners will work alongside adults with Down syndrome as they plan activities, develop social skills, manage money, explore new places, and practice healthy choices.

Peer Partners must be at least age 20 and pass a background check.

Cincinnati Parks works with community groups called CPACs or (Cincinnati Parks Advisory Councils) to produce events and activate our parks. Several CPACs have social media presence and are looking for some support to maintain and enhance their accounts. Community group accounts have been  one of the most effective ways to promote these community events. 

Alms Park Allies (and potentially additional groups) are looking for a self starter who can spend a couple hours a week (flexible) keeping up on their social media accounts. The ideal candidate will be willing to meet members of the CPAC in person at the park to hear their vision and needs. The Patient Navigation Internship Program provides a unique opportunity for interns to work with patients and gain valuable insights to potential health care barriers and help patients navigate the healthcare system. 

Interns assist patients as referral specialists helping  assisting patients with barriers getting to specialist and diagnostic testing. Interns aim to make the referral process/experiences for patients as manageable and accessible as possible.  Interns work closely with HealthSource of Ohio’s clinical site team members including care coordinators to learn about available resources and ensure patients have access to their healthcare needs. 

 Through shadowing opportunities available for interns at HealthSource of Ohio’s designated clinical site, interns gain a better understanding of a clinician’s roles and responsibilities, the framework behind a patient-clinician relationship, observe the process behind treatment plans, and ultimately see medicine in its reality. 

Time spent in this internship program is invaluable, as interns not only gain a first person view of primary care, but make connections, and build on their health care experience. 

We request intern commits 150 hours to ensure an impactful and meaningful experience. We are very flexible with hours and days to make your schedule work around school schedule.

Pet food is packed into smaller bags that is manageable for the seniors and easy for our drivers to take to them weekly.

Make snack boxes for seniors which go out with their meals each week.  Opportunity is done in an assembly line fashion.

Northside Greenspace Inc. is an all-volunteer, nonprofit organization founded to identify, preserve and restore natural areas in Northside and surrounding Cincinnati, Ohio communities.

Our Outcomes department, or front desk staff, are the front line to the public so it's important to make sure our front lobby is ready to go when our doors open at 1pm. This role involves sorting donations by department, distributing them accordingly (with the possibility of transporting items to another location), and collecting inventory records. Additionally, this volunteer would be responsible for collecting inventory sheets from the storage closet multiple times a week. You will help organize and inventory medical retail items and other retail products like leashes and collars. You may also help with cleaning, decluttering and organizing both the front and back office spaces. This is a great role for someone who enjoys cleaning and organizing!

The Gikingo committee is one of 3 EWB-UC project committees working on creating water supply systems. Gikingo is a community in Rwanda, just north of Kigali, with a population of around 1000. Before this project, community members sourced water from an undeveloped spring and other unsafe sources. The community desires a system to provide clean and accessible water to improve member's health. Weekly committee meetings work on, planning trips, creating technical documentation, engineering system solutions, and many other critical tasks. We are looking for a volunteer to do research for our clients on local help in various states for miscarriage and stillbirth support.  We can give you websites to research and you can categorize by state and by service.  You would type this as a word document and as an Excel doc to hand in and get volunteer hours. 

The Service Coordinator has administrative tasks that need completed such as updating our Resource Guide, organizing storage closets, updating bulletin board, etc.. 

The Resource Guide is a set of 3 ring binders that contains useful information for our residents such as but not limited to: 

     - nearby food pantry location, hours, services provided

     - transportation  

     - senior centers

     - home health providers

     - so much more!

All information needs to be verified, added, formatted, typed, indexed and placed in binders.

The facility has several closets, rooms, etc. that have become catch all's for too long and need organizing or decluttered.

Our Bulletin Board is located in the lobby and front entrance. Each month we change the border to reflect the season or holiday. Also informational flyers are posted and updated/removed regularly.

TriHealth is looking for committed individuals to help better our patients’ experience. As a volunteer you would be able to interact with others to provide an extra layer of support.

Various volunteer opportunities, both patient-facing and behind-the-scenes, are available. Our high-priority needs include Unit Helper, Wayfinder, Pharmacy, Lobby Greeter, and Meaningful Connections, a bedside companionship program. Serving is flexible, and many roles have the option to self-schedule. Our Volunteer Services team will work with you to choose the area best suited to you and your schedule.
