About our Organization
Bearcats Academy is a partnership between UC and Cincinnati Public Schools to support college awareness, readiness and preparation.
The goal is to prepare high school students from CPS schools for rigorous college experiences by providing multiple years of mentoring activities that focus on motivation, academic planning, scholarly and social experiences as well as financial awareness.
How our organization engages UC students
Bearcats Academy is a program that connects current UC students with motivated college-going high school students. It is a mentoring opportunity where UC students can engage in supportive relationships with students from local high schools that revolve around academic mentoring, esteem building, and achievement motivation.
The commitment is an average of 10 hours a month consisting of 1 in-person Saturday and 4 weekly virtual sessions.
(1) If you can commit, fill out the Mentor Application. BA Staff will review to ensure you can meet the needs of our students.
(2) Respond to our CCE need so we can can add you to our email list and communicate next steps!
(3) Interview.
(4) Complete ONLINE and INPERSON Mentor Orientation Modules (includes background check process).
(5) Start Mentoring!
