About our Organization

Providing outdoor nature-based education programming, our non profit maintains vegetable/floral gardens and a nature trail as environments for hands on learning in the natural world.  Our Nature Educators teach experiential lessons to 1st-4th graders across a wide variety of topics. Lessons are aligned to state, by grade level curriculum standards. We believe in the physical, social and emotional benefits of being outdoors and the long term value of connecting youth to nature at an early age. We also run an afterschool "Outdoor Adventures" program, summer programs and host community events including scout meetings.

How our organization engages UC students

Our mission is to foster lifelong connections to the wonders of the natural world. We believe in immersing kids in the outdoors from a young age and the lasting impact of positive impressions with nature.

The nonprofit maintains two outdoor spaces- our garden and nature trail on the grounds of the Loveland Primary/Elementary schools. Our program has been a role model for other outdoor garden/nature education programs in Cincinnati and across the country.

Volunteers help us maintain our garden and nature trail throughout the growing season - March through October. Garden preparation and nature trail cleanup begin in March once the weather allows and projects continue into November.

Other project based volunteer and summer internship opportunities exist drawing students from botany, enviromental science, life sciences, marketing/communications and education. Contact us if interested in learning more.
