Mission: We Excel empowers parents, students, and communities by providing the tools, knowledge, and support needed to advocate for high‑quality education. We strengthen family leadership, expand access to literacy and academic resources, and create pathways for parents to understand and act on their child’s reading and math progress. Through programs like Read to Rise, we uplift the whole family so every child has the opportunity to thrive. How We Excel Engages UC Students in Read to Rise We Excel is committed to building a strong pipeline of future educators and community leaders by actively engaging University of Cincinnati students in our Read to Rise literacy program. UC students will support Program Lead Dr. Alissa Irvin in delivering high‑dosage reading intervention for K–6th grade students using the Science of Reading curriculum. Through hands‑on tutoring, progress monitoring, and small‑group instruction, UC students gain real experience applying evidence‑based literacy practices while making a direct impact on young readers. Our organization engages UC students as partners in learning offering training, coaching, and opportunities to lead sessions, support family engagement, and contribute to data‑driven instruction. This collaboration strengthens our mission and provides UC students with meaningful, community‑rooted field experience. Together, we are preparing the next generation of educators while helping Cincinnati students rise.
