About our Organization

The Problem Gambling Prevention and Treatment Coalition of SW OH advocates for prevention and treatment workforce development in Adams, Brown, Butler, Clermont, Clinton, Darke, Hamilton, Highland, Lawrence, Miami, Pike, Preble, Scioto, and Warren counties. • To promote organizations to use problem gambling screening as part of client/patient intake. • To increase number of Ohio behavioral health professionals, students and faculty earning the GAMB Endorsement. • To educate behavioral health students and professionals prepared for problem gambling prevention. • To facilitate this project as the only current option in Ohio for social workers students to receive supervision that counts toward social work licensure and GAMB supervision. • To enhance behavioral health student’s knowledge of substance use disorder as it related to problem gambling. • To conduct prevention education information tables and class presentations on college/university campuses to increase awareness among students, faculty and staff and the general population. The coalition fulfills a community need for research, prevention, resources and training in problem gambling prevention and treatment. How our organization engages UC students

Students can serve as committee members and in leadership roles on Coalition committees including Community Engagement Committee, Strategic Planning Committee, College Committee. The Coalition's 2023-2026 Continuing Education Days included over 550 behavioral health professionals, prevention professionals, and college students hosted at partnering organizations including: o University of Cincinnati, College of Allied Health Sciences o University of Cincinnati, Clermont College campus o Warren/Clinton County Mental Health Board o Envision Partnerships in Butler County o Miami University, Voice of America campus in Butler County o Cincinnati State Technical and Community College o Center for Addiction Treatment The Coalition 2026-2027 CE Series has confirmed or pending partners for: • Sept 2026 - pending decision with health care provider • Oct 2026 - Mercy Health Clermont Hospital • March 2027 - Xavier University, Department of Social Work • June 2027 - to be determined - pending decision with behavioral health care provider The PG Coalition SW OH is applying for Ohio continuing education through the • Ohio Chemical Dependency Professionals Board • State of Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, and Marriage and Family Therapist Board.
