Problem Gambling Prevention and Treatment Coalition SW OH

The Problem Gambling Prevention and Treatment Coalition of SW OH advocates for prevention and treatment workforce development in Adams, Brown, Butler, Clermont, Clinton, Darke, Hamilton, Highland, Lawrence, Miami, Pike, Preble, Scioto, and Warren counties. • To promote organizations to use problem gambling screening as part of client/patient intake. • To increase number of Ohio behavioral health professionals, students and faculty earning the GAMB Endorsement. • To educate behavioral health students and professionals prepared for problem gambling prevention. • To facilitate this project as the only current option in Ohio for social workers students to receive supervision that counts toward social work licensure and GAMB supervision. • To enhance behavioral health student’s knowledge of substance use disorder as it related to problem gambling. • To conduct prevention education information tables and class presentations on college/university campuses to increase awareness among students, faculty and staff and the general population. The coalition fulfills a community need for research, prevention, resources and training in problem gambling prevention and treatment. Students can serve as committee members and in leadership roles on Coalition committees including Community Engagement Committee, Strategic Planning Committee, College Committee.
