Over the Rhine Community Housing engages UC students through our youth arts program, Children's Creative Corner (CCC). Established in 2007 to support the low-income families living in our community, CCC provides year-round art programming and occasional field trips for youth ages 5-14.
Every Tuesday/Thursday evening, participants come to our art center on E. Clifton Ave to play games, work on homework, color, and have a snack before the class begins an organized art project together. Our aim is to cultivate a nurturing space where youth can connect with peers and grow both personally and creatively. By practicing these skills youth feel empowered to explore, understand, and express themselves both as individuals and as part of their greater community.
Volunteers are the glue that holds Children's Creative Corner together! We are always interested in recruiting dedicated individuals* to help facilitate the program.
Our volunteers are generally responsible for:
- interacting with program participants in an effort to build
secure, meaningful relationships
- assisting participants with their art projects when
needed/requested
- fulfilling nightly volunteer jobs such as washing dishes,
sweeping floors, putting away materials, etc.
*At this time, we are not accepting new volunteers. If, however, you will be in Cincinnati during the summer months and are looking for volunteer work, please reach out to Caroline Dziubek at cdziubek@otrch.org. Thank you!*
