About our Organization
Gujarati Student Association (GUSA), a vibrant new club at the University of Cincinnati. Our mission is to promote and celebrate Gujarati culture within the university and the Greater Cincinnati community. Through a variety of engaging events, we aim to create a welcoming environment for all to experience and appreciate the rich traditions of Gujarat.
How our organization engages UC students
We plan on organizing cultural festivals, language workshops, dance performances, and fun events that showcase the diverse heritage of Gujarat. From traditional Garba and Dandiya nights to workshops on the Gujarati language and cuisine, we provide a platform for cultural exchange and learning. Our events foster a sense of community and connection among participants. In addition to celebrating our culture, GUSA is committed to promoting heart health awareness within the South Asian community. Heart issues are prevalent in our community, and we believe in the importance of proactive health education. We have partnered with Red Saree, a Cincinnati-based nonprofit dedicated to promoting healthcare awareness among South Asians worldwide. Through this partnership, we aim to provide valuable information and resources on heart health during our events, engaging the community in meaningful activities that promote healthier lifestyle.
