About our Organization

Casa de Paz facilitates the transition of women and children from survivors of domestic violence to confident, self-reliant individuals. Our particular focus is on the Latino community. We provide a culturally sensitive, temporary home where healing and growth can take place. Casa de Paz offers a secure and safe haven for Latina women and their children in the Greater Cincinnati area to begin a new life, free from abuse and trauma. We guide and support the families unconditionally, without judgment and with inclusion and confidentiality, in order to facilitate their transformation. We provide programs of education and growth—psychological-emotional, vocational, and spiritual—through partnerships with professional services and a network of volunteers.

How our organization engages UC students

Casa de Paz engages with students in a variety of ways. Many of our volunteers are students and are able to learn from their experiences at Casa de Paz. Whether they are interested in the Spanish language, early childhood education, social work, working with survivors of domestic violence, social justice, or non-profit administration, there are opportunities for them to support our work, while developing professionally. Volunteers often assist with child care, tutoring, language exchanges, programming, organizational support, and much more!
