Clifton Area Neighborhood School

CANS is located in the Clifton neighborhood, right next to the Clifton CRC. As part of CPS' model, CANS is considered a Community Learning Center as well, and we are looking for ways to further connect CANS to the Clifton, CUF, and Spring Grove Village neighborhoods. There are a variety of ways CANS could benefit from volunteers at this time. We currently have a food pantry and small clothing pantry for CANS families in need. We are also working on starting a variety of hour-long after school clubs for students and may benefit from volunteers to assist. Moving forward, there may be academic opportunities as well as more community outreach opportunities for volunteers. If a UC student has specific requirements for a volunteer opportunity, I'm open to hearing it and working to see if there's a way we can tailor an opportunity to be beneficial to all involved.

CANS is an elementary school serving PreK-4th grade. CANS uses an expeditionary learning program which relies heavily on hands-on, experience-based educational approaches.
