About our Organization
Compassionate Justice's mission is to develop thriving Christ-centered communities by eradicating the root causes of systemic poverty (Spiritual, Relational, Motivational & Material).
How our organization engages UC students
Compassionate Justice assists people to find healing, restoration, and hope through the life changing transformation offered by Jesus. We engage in long-term relationships with people living in under-resourced communities in Cincinnati.
We help individuals and families through Biblically-based education, life skills training, and support services. Our ultimate goal is to help individuals and families move from areas of poverty to flourishing in their lives.
With communities, we help to rebuild the economic foundation of under-resourced communities, advocate for better systems and quality of healthcare and education. We also seek to break down barriers such as racial injustice and employment discrimination which constrains flourishing.
We currently offer a summer reading program for 1st through 3rd grade students in Avondale. This fall we will offer a Biblical Entrepreneurship Adventure for 5th and 6th graders in Avondale.
We also hold monthly outreach opportunities the second Saturday of every month from 9am - 1pm. These vary from working at one of the local schools, in a park, or at individual homes. Every month is different, based on requests and needs. In the past we've cleaned up playgrounds, laid mulch, weeded and planted gardens, cut down overgrown foliage and cleaned a group home for further renovation.
