About our Organization

Founded in 1971 by local parents and professionals, we envision a world where autistic individuals and their families are supported, treated with equity, and valued. Our mission is to uplift the Southwest Ohio autism community through education, resources, connections, and lifelong support. Like the colors of the rainbow, and like our organizational logo, every person with autism has a spectrum of abilities and gifts, and each individual with autism is wonderfully unique. The vibrantly colored letters in our logo overlap to symbolize that autistic individuals and their families are all connected. We are not isolated, rather together we make up a rich, dynamic community. As the CDC reports that 1 in 36 children are diagnosed with autism, our programs and services become increasingly important in our community.

We offer a variety of support groups, social activities, social skills classes, educational seminars, and trainings. We also run the region's largest Autism Helpline which is an information and referral call and email response service for families, individuals, and community members who have an autism question.

How our organization engages UC students

UC students can participate in our monthly social programs by facilitating games, crafts, and activities with our program participants. We encourage one-on-one support between our program volunteers and participants, as building rapport with individuals with autism during our programs accomplishes our goal to build and uplift the Southwest Ohio autism community.
